These are the Auxbeam Q15 Series 9005 LED high beam bulbs in 3000K golden yellow, installed on my 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 WJ.

I only replaced the high beams. The low beams remain the original stock halogen bulbs. On older reflector-style housings like the WJ’s, I prefer to keep the low beams halogen to avoid creating unnecessary glare for oncoming traffic.

Build Quality

The first thing that stands out is the construction.

  • All-metal design with aluminum housing and heat sinks
  • Noticeably heavier and more substantial than typical plastic-bodied LED bulbs or the original halogen units
  • Fanless cooling system

The fanless design is a practical advantage on the WJ. You don’t have to worry about extra clearance around the headlight housing or fans that can collect dust and eventually fail.

Installation

Installation was straightforward plug-and-play:

  • No adapters required
  • No extra wiring
  • No error codes

They clicked into the factory 9005 sockets and worked immediately.

Color and Appearance

The 3000K color temperature is exactly as advertised — very yellow. It’s a warm, penetrating golden tone that contrasts clearly with the stock halogen low beams.

Real-World Performance

Brightness is better than the original halogen high beams. It’s a clear improvement, but I would describe it as incremental rather than transformative.

What stood out most in actual use:

  • Stronger illumination in the flood area of the beam
  • Better detail and usable light off to the sides and closer in
  • Noticeably stronger hot spot

I cannot independently verify the manufacturer’s lumen claims, but the on-road difference is real and useful.

Overall Impression

Amazon rating: 5 stars

These bulbs do what they claim. The all-metal construction with heat sinks feels heavy-duty, the fanless design is practical, and installation was simple.

I would recommend them over stock halogen high beams primarily for the build quality and cooling design. Longevity will take time to prove on a high-mileage WJ that sees regular trail and overland use, but first impressions are positive.

Vehicle: 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4.0 WJ Position tested: High beams only (low beams remain stock halogen)

Transcript
These are the Auxbeam Q15 Series 9005 LED high beam bulbs in 3000K yellow, installed on my 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ Laredo 4.0. I only swapped the high beams. The low beams are still the original halogen bulbs. I prefer to keep the low beams stock so I don’t create glare issues for oncoming traffic in the reflector housings. First impressions on build quality are strong. These are an all-metal design with a solid aluminum housing and heat sinks. They’re noticeably heavier and more substantial than the typical plastic-bodied LED bulbs or the original halogen units. The fanless design is a big plus on a WJ — you don’t have to worry about clearance around the headlight housing or fans collecting dust and failing later. Installation was straightforward plug-and-play. No adapters, no extra wiring, no error codes. They clicked in and worked immediately. The 3000K color is exactly what it claims — very yellow. It’s a warm, penetrating tone that stands out against the stock halogen low beams. On performance: they are brighter than the original high beams. It’s a clear improvement, but I wouldn’t call it transformative. The biggest real-world difference I noticed is better detail in the flood area of the beam — more usable light off to the sides and closer in. The hot spot is stronger too, but the overall jump is incremental rather than dramatic. I’m giving these 5 stars on Amazon. They do what they claim, the construction feels heavy-duty, and the install was easy. I would recommend them over stock halogen high beams purely for the all-metal housing and heat sink design. Longevity will take time to prove, but first impressions are solid. Installed on a high-mileage 2003 WJ that sees regular trail and overland use. Low beams remain stock halogen.
