There it is. The bad boy. Magnum e e Magnum and anything. Bad boy knows what the proper name is. Seems to be different. Just about everywhere you look. Pulled the trigger and got one. There is not much information on these guys out there in the world, so I thought I'd make some videos and help you out. I know that I struggled with deciding on this thing because all there seems to be is, dealer and demo information.

00:00:42:09 - 00:01:11:12
There's really no real world anything out there yet. I know it's pretty new, but maybe this will help you decide. I struggled. This is basically an overview showing you what it is, what's going on. I'll take you guys on the journey. I'll make some videos as I, update things, add some accessories. Obviously cut with it. See how that goes.

00:01:11:14 - 00:01:36:17
We're not going to be able to get a true longevity or durability test for quite a while, but you'll see what I see and experience what I experience with this new machine. Boy. Pretty expensive. But.

00:01:36:19 - 00:01:38:10
Sure is nice as well.

00:01:38:10 - 00:02:09:17
So what do we got going here? Got a 42 inch deck. It's, fabricated, which is nice. It's 11 gauge steel instead of seven gauge. Bad boy usually does a seven gauge. With this, they went with the 11. I don't know if that's the save weight or, they don't anticipate you running it quite as hard as some of the others.

00:02:09:17 - 00:02:39:01
It does have this additional double guarded kind of bottom lip. So that's good. And it sure does feel quite stout. You can step on this thing getting on and off. You need to. No problem there. It's, much thicker, much better built than obviously the pressed ones. So like I said, fabricated, welded, like all the bad boy stuff.

00:02:39:03 - 00:02:58:04
Major. Step up from the other electronic e lawnmowers, riding ones out there. Even, a lot of the gas ones you'll find in this kind of competitive bracket.

00:02:58:04 - 00:03:14:20
Does have some front suspension on here, and we're going to use that term quite loosely. It's basically just some. I don't know, like a rubber boot.

00:03:14:23 - 00:03:41:13
And it's not much of one that just kind of dampens the vibrations. I went I don't know if you call it really suspension. You see zero flex. I mean I can get on this thing and jump up and down and that front isn't moving at all. So maybe I'll take away some of the vibrations can pivot, but there is no travel on it whatsoever.

00:03:43:10 - 00:03:48:28
Like I said, maybe, maybe take out some vibrations.

00:03:48:28 - 00:04:31:03
Easy access in here. Easy access to what? I don't know, because we've got no belts. Look at that. No spindles, no belts. You got two independent electric motors that drive the blades and. I'm not really sure why it's so secretive. As far as who, manufactures. Who's the OEM of these motors? Especially the drivetrain back here. The ones that spin your tires.

00:04:31:05 - 00:05:02:10
You know, like, Bad Boy has no problem telling you when there's a color Kawasaki or Briggs engine, but they are really secretive about the OEM on all their electronic motors batteries as well. And if you've done any market research and can some comparison, you can definitely see that share a lot of similarities with Greenworks. And then digging into that, there's this company called globe Tools Group.

00:05:02:12 - 00:05:37:09
They own Greenworks and they're an OEM for several other brands. And, you know, other manufacturers that do electronic tools and whatnot. And so with looking at all this stuff, you can almost guarantee that globe Tool works is the OEM for these brushless motors, but Bad Boy will not confirm or deny that. So I'm not really sure what's going on there.

00:05:37:10 - 00:06:07:00
I know when you how I even went down my rabbit hole was kind of started out between the egos and the greenworks. And I wouldn't say that Greenworks has a bad reputation by any means. They're we're new to the, electronic market. They, you know, electronic mower, landscaping, power tool market. They're a brand new company that came out and they try to specialize in that.

00:06:07:03 - 00:06:40:22
And with any new technology, there are some growing pains. These little dampeners here that seat or sun seat plate. You know, they greenworks has battery problems. That would be about the the worst thing you can say about them. I haven't seen much at all as far as failures with any of their motors, any of their drives, drive motors or even any of their cut motors.

00:06:40:22 - 00:07:06:06
And then the rest of their equipment, power equipment seems to be fine. It's always seems to be in battery issue. And one. Look at these. This is just the orange version of the exact same battery. You know, Greenworks uses this green one logo. You know, name changes, color changes, but everything else about them is the exact same. And that's not a bad thing, you know, it's not a big deal.

00:07:06:08 - 00:07:34:24
I just don't understand why they're so secretive about it. They have no problem telling you when something's a color or a Kawasaki or a Briggs, but they don't want to tell you about these motors. Like, we think that they're doing all the R&D and development, and obviously they're not. So here's these things.

00:07:34:26 - 00:08:05:12
What is that? You see a dipstick. Yes. There is gear oil in these things. And I'm going to do another video discussing that. But They're in the I've read the Bad Boy manual twice. I don't even think bad boys read their manual, because they still talk about air filters and oil changes on this machine in particular, which is quite humorous.

00:08:05:15 - 00:08:38:21
Do not discuss this at all. And Greenworks says you need to change your gear fluid once after 50 hours and then every 200 hours after that. There is not a thing in the world that bad boy says about changing any gear oil and then add insult to injury. This one here doesn't even register on the dipstick. So there's three X is on your dipstick.

00:08:38:23 - 00:09:15:25
This one's got nothing showing in this one has the line up to the single x. So I've got, a call into my dealer trying to figure out they're trying to work with Bad boy. We're trying to figure out what type of gear oil goes in there. I did find what Greenworks uses. I can't remember off the top of my head, but I'll update you guys on that when I go ahead and add the gear oil.

00:09:15:27 - 00:09:36:17
Little concerning, seeing as this thing already has over 2.5 hours from the dealer. You know, I'm sure it's just them dicking around in the showroom, driving it around. That and customers do whatever out in the parking lot, but, you know, without that side having any gear, oil in it doesn't make you feel too good.

00:09:36:17 - 00:10:12:20
So what else do we have going on with this thing? Well, I mean, to me, especially compared to all the other emailers out there. It looks very well built. We're talking. Quarter inch steel just about everywhere that it matters. It's on the tabs, a little thinner, but very well constructed, very well built, especially compared to other residential mowers.

00:10:12:20 - 00:10:42:04
Kind of in this category. You look at the greenworks egos. Even Cub Cadet has some. So every manufacturer's got their model either out or just coming out or will be out here in the next few months. And from what I've seen, this bad boy is pretty bad to the bone. I mean, it's very well built, very rugged. You know, I was looking at the John Deere years and we found John Deere for various things throughout my whole life.

00:10:42:04 - 00:10:56:05
And you love the name, but, boy, they they haven't been making the best stuff in a long time. And this you can see.

00:10:56:08 - 00:11:30:09
Head to head is just looks. You get way more. I don't want to say value for your money because this thing's really expensive, but you get something that looks and feels quality. And I would say that especially compared to other electronics like the greenworks mower, I mean, the Greenworks, it looks like a friggin Prius. And a lot of people complain about that, like a lot of plastic, a lot of weird molding and, just some goofiness about it.

00:11:30:09 - 00:11:41:10
Whereas this looks like an actual zero turn mower and is looks to be built pretty rugged, like one. Time will tell.

00:11:41:10 - 00:11:50:22
All right. Here we are sitting on it. Give you some look at the controls.

00:11:50:25 - 00:12:29:24
I am 511. Almost six. 215. Probably 220. Really? After I eat a burrito. I've got five inches. This comes all the way back. I'm about touching. Maybe six inches here. All this stuff seems pretty good, Scott. You know, these are pretty shallow. Your drink holders in your cell phone holder. I wouldn't trust. Put my phone in here.

00:12:29:24 - 00:12:55:23
You'll fling it out and run it over on your next pass, that's for sure. I mean, pretty, pretty shallow. They can't be more than you know, three inches 3.5in deep. One foot lever. Raise, raise and lower the deck. Super easy to use. It's adjustable. You can kind of change the pitch on it down there on those bolts.

00:12:56:00 - 00:13:33:04
You can change the angles. Pretty sure you can even swap it to this foot over here if you want to, but press in, select your height. And I believe they do it every quarter inch. Yeah. And also every quarter inch. I get it set up high now for transporting. Super simple. Let's open these back up. Turn this thing on.

00:13:33:07 - 00:14:00:26
Here. I'm not sure you guys can hear it. Some fans kick on for the batteries, so that's the only noise you have other than your blades. Obviously. Way quiet compared to typical mower. But you do hear some fans, which, you know, no big deal. I'd rather keep. Keep them cool. Keep the batteries cool. Real simple. Basic menu here.

00:14:00:28 - 00:14:29:27
This controls your speed, how fast you go. You got low, medium high. You cannot cut in high, only medium and low. So if you try to cut in high, you just get an air flashy thing and it won't let you do it. So high mode is simply for driving around the yard. You got three fan speeds low, medium and high.

00:14:29:29 - 00:14:58:21
That's going to be one of the direct correlations as far as how much battery life you get, depending on what speeds cut on. Lights. I turn these on at dusk last night and they actually do work. I mean, I got my other lights, shop lights going. They actually send out a pretty good beam. They send kind of a high one and a low one.

00:14:58:21 - 00:15:30:19
So I don't anticipate ever really need them. But you know, for those that care, pretty cool. And here's your menu. There's only three. There's only three, things in your menu. Errors and warnings, which hopefully you never get. But nice that you do. You got battery information. So it shows you what slots and how much is left in each one, which is very nice.

00:15:30:22 - 00:16:03:15
And language. Select your language. We're going to go ahead and see it. English Spanish and French. That's it. That's all the menus you have. So pretty basic. Not a lot in there. Not a lot you need. I will say one thing. The seat sensor on this thing is very sensitive. Like, I put my feet up to kind of do this and wiggle my ass around and the thing will cut out or give warnings.

00:16:03:15 - 00:16:13:29
And so I don't know about that. We'll see how it goes. That's one thing I did notice, though. It seems to be quite sensitive.

00:16:13:29 - 00:16:44:09
All right, so you guys know just about all that I know. I haven't even had a chance to use it yet, so I'm looking forward to it. I'm excited about it. It's like my little moon rover. I'm going to be doing some videos. I'm going to be adding a mulch kit. I'm going to add a suspension seat, trailer hitch.

00:16:44:11 - 00:17:12:11
We got to put in the proper amount of gear oil, and obviously we need to use the thing and get some real world experience on it. So I'll make those videos as they happen. This is just kind of letting you see what I'm seeing. Here we go. World of electric. No more gas, no noise, no more fumes nor belts.

00:17:12:14 - 00:17:19:14
No more spark plugs. No more bad gas. See how she does.
